CS1 Student's Speak About Their Experience with Tablet PCs and Mobile Technology

CIS111 students enjoy using the tablet PCS in the Computer Science I course.

Brian's interests combine Computer Science and Communication. He is an Electronic Game and Simulation Design major. When he is not coding programs, he spends time in the College's video and audio production studios.

Charles uses knowledge from his A+ certification in his daytime job. He is interested in further exploring computer technology and keeping his classmates laughing.

After experiencing the tablet PCs in an educational environment, Dennis has decided to pursue a career in teaching.

Kyle and Christopher worked well together on various projects throughout the semester. Kyle, a talented high school student, is preparing for an Engineering career. Christopher, a Liberal Studies major, enjoys building custom computers; he hopes to continue with advanced computer courses and transfer for his baccalaureate degree.

The creativity of Rich, Jordan and Dan was evident throughout the semester. Rich, a computer science major, enjoys editing digital photos and playing video games; he is interested in exploring the network administration fields. Jordan reads "Teach Yourself" computer science books and learns from his father who works with computers; Jordan is pursuing a degree in Management Information Systems. Dan built his own computer and completed Cisco Semesters 1 - 4; he plans on completing a Management Information Systems degree at MCCC and transferring to Drexel in Information Technology. Their video can be found on YouTube.

Michael is a traditional student in the Computer Science A.S. program. His goals are to earn a four-year degree and pursue a career in Web Development.

Oscar will combine his concern for the environment and love of computers by studying bioinformatics. During the summer of 2007, Oscar will study at Bucknell University as a Jack Kent Cooke Foundation scholar.
