Martin J. Fertig
    Adjunct Instructor of English

Teaching writing has convinced me that several of the skills we need to write well are the same skills we need to live well. Writing a coherent essay demands that we observe, select, arrange, and present information we have gathered from the world around us. Living a productive life requires that we observe, select, arrange, and perform acts that promote our own growth and help others as well. Writing and living are both creative processes, enabling us to transform ourselves and assist those around us. Learning to write well can teach us how to live well.
