A study of the fundamentals of the Spanish language with exercises on communication skills, as well as an introduction to Spanish and Latin American culture through various media selections.  Open to students with no previous training or one year of high school Spanish.

A continuation of SPA 101, with increased emphasis on reading and conversational skills.

A continuation of SPA 201, with extensive practice in selected readings, compositions, and conversation on a more advanced level.

Students will be acquainted with Spanish and Latin American culture by means of readings selections, movies, videos and slides.  Class discussions will be conducted in Spanish.  A brief research paper as well as several oral reports will be required.
