Normal integumentary findings if Herpes infection is latent (silent).
Healing lesions appear as ulcerations.
Lab data: Culture of lesion on viral medium or Pap or Tzank smear.
No cure. Acyclovir ointment or oral tablets; counseling & emotional support; avoid contact during attacks from podrome to healing; condoms & self-help measures.
