Biography
I was born in the Fall, exactly 40 weeks after Christmas. My parents tell me, however, that I came into this world a month prematurely. My three brothers swear that this was the only time I was ever early in my life. My mom and dad are my greatest supporters and have always encouraged me to pursue my education and ambitions.

I love nursing. Once, I took the Myers-Brigg Inventory for personality types and found out how perfectly suited I was to nursing. I knew very early that caring for women at any point in their lifespan was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

I try to practice what I preach with regard to diet, rest, and exercise. I believe the client will take you more seriously when you are teaching preventative health measures if you look the part.

Though I didn't always.

My hobby is art. I find that, when I'm drawing or creating, I can completely tune out everything; just as if I were reading an Anne Rice novel. I have successfully completed several fine arts courses here at MCCC.

I would have to say my greatest artistic achievement was designing the Wilkes University School of nursing pin in 1976.  In December of 1996 my professor, who remembered my contribution to the pin, called to tell me the students were going to celebrate the pin's 20th anniversary and they would like me to share my thoughts regarding its origin. It was a confirming and rewarding experience to interact with students from my alma mater in this particular way. My second greatest artistic achievement was decorating the award winning boat you see here for the 1997 Ocean City Night in Venice Parade. My family and our good friends received second place for the most original boat under 24 feet thanks to my excellent typography and artistic coordination. I try not to let the glory go to my head.                              Goodbye Captain Tom.

My husband Bob and I have three children. Incidentally, he teaches part time in the mathematics department. The students who have had him generally recognize what I've known about him for years: He can really help you understand mathematical concepts. In fact he tutored me in college and stayed with me through calculus. I guess we decided if we could survive calculus, maybe there was something to this relationship and the rest is history.

A lot of people say my children resemble their father. Although I honestly don't see it.
